Featuring characters from the hit Netflix series Gabby’s Dollhouse

DreamWorks Animation and UNICEF USA announced today their launch of the Gabby’s Kid Power Challenge, a cat-tastic program that gives kids the power to make a positive impact for children in need around the world. By watching Gabby’s Kid Power Challenge videos on YouTube Kids, children can learn valuable social-emotional lessons while contributing towards making a lasting change for kids around the world.

Fans can catch weekly videos from now through World’s Children’s Day on November 20th at YOUTUBE.COM/GabbyandFriends. Videos will feature Gabby (Laila Lockhart Kraner) and everyone’s favorite kitty characters like Pandy Paws, Cakey Cat, and DJ Catnip participating in fun crafts, dancing and costume parties, while highlighting valuable lessons like the importance of teamwork, mindfulness, flexible thinking and failure as a learning process.

As kids watch along, kitty hearts will be added to a kitty bank on GabbysKidPowerChallenge.com. Once the kitty bank is full, families can choose to support an area of UNICEF’s work –from nutrition, education and emergencies—that DreamWorks’ $400,000 donation can go to.

“I am so excited to be a part of Gabby’s Kid Power Challenge with UNICEF and DreamWorks! We created some really fun videos that will help teach kids that they can help other children around the world by watching and playing along with Gabby and her friends,” said Gabby’s Dollhouse star Laila Lockhart Kraner. Not only do kids get to have some fun with new crafts, dance moves and costume parties, but they’ll also be getting to choose how they want to help. Kids can be pretty powerful and this is a fun way for everyone to get involved.”

Examples of what the money donated by DreamWorks could help fund include therapeutic food packs for children with severe acute malnutrition, school supplies for many children across the world who can’t afford back-to-school basics or attend underfunded schools and emergency supplies such as blankets for children and families who have been displaced from their homes by emergencies. By participating in this challenge, children will learn that they can help ensure that more children around the world are able to access their basic rights.

“Gabby’s Kid Power Challenge gives children around the US the agency they need to be changemakers in today’s world,” said Shelley Diamond, Chief Marketing Officer of UNICEF USA. “UNICEF USA is proud to be the implementing partner of this creative concept that will empower children to use their voices and help create a more equitable world for every child.”
