‘THE STORY OF EVERYTHING’ IGNITES NATIONWIDE CONVERSATION, EXTENDS THEATRICAL RUN THROUGH MAY 17

Breakout documentary from Fathom Entertainment extends theatrical run following top 10 debut and powerful audience response

NASHVILLE, Tenn. and DENVER, Colo. (May 7, 2026) — In a theatrical landscape where documentaries rarely break through, “The Story of Everything” is doing exactly that. After debuting to a powerful $1.6 million at the box office and landing in the top 10 nationwide, the visually striking, science-driven documentary has officially extended its theatrical run due to strong audience demand.

Originally slated as a limited engagement, the film’s strong performance with Fathom Entertainment distributing is proving there’s a real appetite for big-screen storytelling that tackles life’s biggest questions—without pulling punches.

“This kind of response speaks volumes,” said producer Brian Bird. “Audiences aren’t just showing up—they’re engaging, thinking, and talking. That’s exactly why we wanted to create this film.”

Inspired by Stephen C. Meyer’s bestselling “Return of the God Hypothesis,” “The Story of Everything” takes audiences on a cinematic journey from the vastness of the cosmos to the intricate complexity of DNA—asking a bold and increasingly relevant question: What if the deeper we explore the universe, the more it points to design?

“From the fine-tuning of the universe to the information encoded in DNA, we’re seeing evidence that challenges the idea that everything is the result of blind, unguided processes,” said Stephen C. Meyer. “This film invites audiences to take a fresh look at what science is actually telling us about the reality of God.”

Featuring leading voices across science and philosophy—including Stephen C. Meyer, Jay Richards, Douglas Axe, Timothy McGrew, and many more—the film grounds its argument in the work of experts actively shaping the origins debate today.

Produced by Brian Bird (“When Calls the Heart”) alongside Jason Pamer and Jens Jacob of Sypher Studios (“After Death,” the #1 grossing faith documentary of all time), and executive produced by Lee Strobel, The Story of Everything pairs cinematic scale with intellectual depth—bringing a conversation often confined to academia into theaters nationwide.
