Angel Studios to Release an Array of New Projects in January, In Theaters and on Angel.com and in the Angel App

 

 

(Provo, UT – January 3, 2025) Angel Studios, the innovative platform that empowers creators to crowdfund, create, and distribute films and TV series globally with full creative control, is kicking off the new year, announcing five feature films, and six streaming shows will be added to the Angel.com and Angel app platforms. The studio is also releasing the feature film BRAVE THE DARK, in theaters nationwide on January 24, 2025.

HOMESTEAD is an intense post-apocalyptic family survival drama. Ex-Green Beret Jeff Eriksson takes a job as head of security at an elaborate prepper compound, “The Homestead,” as the world crumbles. Inside, they face resource wars and ideological conflicts, while outside, chaos reigns. Amid the mayhem, unity and forgotten truths emerge as love grows in unexpected places and the community strives to cultivate the land and fend off impending destruction. 

 

The untold story of Dietrich Bonhoeffer. As the world teeters on the brink of annihilation, Bonhoeffer joins a deadly plot to assassinate Hitler, risking his faith and fate to save millions of Jews from genocide.  

 

The film was written and directed by Todd Komarnicki (ELF, SULLY), and stars Jonas Dassler (THE GOLDEN GLOVE), August Diehl (INGLORIOUS BASTARDS, A HIDDEN LIFE), Moritz Bleibtreu (KNOCKIN’ ON HEAVEN’S DOOR, Nadine Heidenreich (The Witcher), David Jonsson (ALIEN ROMULUS, Clarke Peters (The Wire, THREE BILLBOARDS OUTSIDE OF EBBING, MISSOURI), and Flula Borg (THE SUICIDE SQUAD).

 

“Breaking Into Beautiful” chronicles the life of Kim White, a young wife and mother known to the world on Instagram as @KimCanKickIt. Now a trend on TikTok, White is considered one of the first “illness influencers,” amassing hundreds of thousands of followers on Instagram by courageously sharing the beautiful and the messy of life throughout her ongoing battle with a rare cancer. 

 

Even keeled and skeptical, Seth Knorr graces the stage to wash away any preconceived notions regarding report cards, global warming, and family budgets.

 

The Twins’ school is suddenly trapped in an endless food fight, and no one knows who’s behind it. Determined to get answers, they visit President Eisenhower himself, learning about the military-industrial complex along the way. Armed with this knowledge, they return to solve the mystery, plunging into a film noir-style adventure that leads them through dark alleys, suspicious motives, and quirky characters.

 

January 9 – SEVEN DAYS IN UTOPIA (2011)

Luke Chisolm has the drive to become a professional golfer. Just when he’s on the verge of going pro, however, he buckles under the pressure. In the aftermath of that crushing disappointment, Luke vanishes from the spotlight, uncertain if he’ll ever return to the game again. Luke is driving through Texas when he crashes his car in the town of Utopia, and strikes up a friendship with Johnny Crawford, a rancher who knows more about the game of golf than the troubled young visitor realizes. Now, the more time Luke spends with Johnny, the more he begins to see life from a new perspective — a perspective that will not only help Luke to make sense of where he’s been in life, but where he’s headed as well.

January 23 – HOOVEY (2015)
