Studio Continues Trend of Successful Faith-Based Entertainment
Covington, GA (March 29, 2023) – Filmmaker and Founder of Triple Horse Studios, Karl Horstmann, is passionate about sharing stories that give people hope. Horstmann has produced numerous impactful films including THE CASE FOR CHRIST, starring Mike Vogel, Erika Christensen and Faye Dunaway, and the feature documentary FALLEN ANGEL: CALL SIGN EXTORTION 17, which he also directed. The documentary investigates the contradictions surrounding the greatest single incident loss of life in U.S. Navy SEAL history and one family’s lasting legacy providing mentorship to children of the fallen, honoring the sacrifice of those who’ve given their all for our freedom.
“For me, it’s always been about the stories that everyone can relate to and see a piece of themselves in,” said Horstmann. “When I see something compelling in the news or find a redemptive message that resonates and reflects God’s grace, I want to help bring those stories to a wider audience. The most entertaining films have been the ones that captivate and inspire. I believe it’s our job as filmmakers of faith to tell these stories in new and powerful ways that provide Hollywood-level entertainment for our audiences.”
Most recently, Horstmann produced several films that tell compelling true stories including the March 10 release, SOUTHERN GOSPEL, the 60’s era faith drama starring Max Ehrich, Katelyn Nacon and Emma Myers, and the miraculous ON A WING AND A PRAYER, starring Dennis Quaid and Heather Graham, produced alongside Autumn Bailey and Roma Downey, set to release on Amazon Prime on April 7. Slated for a summer 2023 streaming release, Horstmann and Triple Horse Studios in partnership with Brookwell McNamara Entertainment, recently completed a family-friendly limited series for Sony/Affirm entitled SHADRACH – a six-episode, coming-of-age tale of a young girl and the horse that changed her family’s life, starring Livi Birch.
Among Horstmann’s projects in development is EXPERIENCING GOD – ANGOLA, the true story of an inmate and a prison warden whose lives were divinely intersected and irrevocably changed by the power of God sparking a miraculous reformation in the most violent prison in America – the infamous Louisiana State Penitentiary. The film is centered around those who have answered the call of joining God where He is working and based on the multi-million-selling interactive Bible study, Experiencing God.
