NASHVILLE – Nov. 8, 2011 – Provident Films—the marketing muscle behind such hits as COURAGEOUS and FIREPROOF—has signed an exclusive distribution agreement with up-and-coming media company Riot Studios. Under the deal, Provident holds exclusive rights for domestic and international distribution, church exhibition, and television rights for Riot’s first two films, BEWARE OF CHRISTIANS, currently on a multicity tour, and ONE NATION UNDER GOD.
“We make original films that challenge people to think honestly about what they believe and why they believe it,” said Riot partner Alex Carroll. “BEWARE OF CHRISTIANS documents our journey across Europe to confirm what we believe and then challenges us to put action to our beliefs. The same thing is happening among more and more young people privately and in groups all over the country. We hope through watching our experiences, even more people will examine their own beliefs about God and how they live them out. Having a partner like Provident to help share our experience with a wider audience is thrilling.”

Riot Studios was founded by Carroll, Will Bakke and Michael Allen, all Dallas natives and friends from their teen years. Their first film, ONE NATION UNDER GOD, followed Bakke, Allen and two other friends on a road trip crisscrossing the United States. Using a documentary approach laced with humor, the young filmmakers asked a variety of characters they met along the way what they thought about faith, God and Christians. In their follow-up film, BEWARE OF CHRISTIANS, Bakke, Allen, Carroll and friend Matt Owen journeyed across Europe discussing and interviewing others about the relevance of Christianity in today’s culture and what it means to be a Jesus follower.
DVDs of both films are available in Christian retail stores with a suggested retail price of $9.99. The BEWARE OF CHRISTIANS DVD includes bonus scenes, outtakes and a link to a printable study guide. The film has drawn the endorsement of more than 100 ministry leaders, sports figures and those wanting to impact teens and young adults.
