Trellis Virtual Cinema Announces Partnership with Collide Media Group, Names New President to Build Next Phase of Growth
The Trellis Platform Enables Films to Extend their Theatrical Release.
San Antonio, TX (October 18, 2022) Trellis Virtual Cinema is pleased to announce a new partnership with Collide Media Group along with the addition of its new President, Luke Frederick. Trellis Virtual Cinema is a groundbreaking platform that allows film companies to maximize their release strategies through premium, ticketed, at-home viewing.
Trellis was founded three years ago by Jared Geesey, who was previously a partner at ChristianCinema.com and is currently Senior VP of Global Distribution at Angel Studios, the company that created The Chosen. “Trellis was originally created to give filmmakers another tool to extend the reach of their film in the theatrical window.” Geesey said.
This resulted in the company building a proprietary technology specifically for virtual theatrical releases. Unlike Premium Video On Demand (PVOD) options, Trellis is an event-based strategy supported by a technology layer that creates unique experiences for customers. Several films have even used this technology as an alternative to their theatrical release, allowing filmmakers and distribution teams to optimize their marketing budget.
Luke Frederick has come on as President to begin the next phase of growth through a strategic partnership with Collide Media Group. “We’ve seen this new model work extremely well for creators. I’m excited to have Luke join the team to share this platform with more filmmakers.” said Geesey.
Frederick, who has spent his career starting and scaling companies, said, “There is so much energy that goes into marketing a movie. It is amazing to finally have a virtual extension that captures ticket sales outside the geographic limitations of theaters showing the movie.”
“We have used Trellis successfully on many projects so it was an easy decision to form a deeper partnership with them to begin the next phase of growth,” said Bob Elder of Collide Media Group. Bob has spent over 30 years working in Christian Entertainment engaging audiences on over hundreds of film releases and has gained a tremendous understanding of consumer behavior.
Geesey continues, “Consumer viewing habits have changed over the past few years. 83% of our film releases have had a positive ROI. Our track record proves that home-based, ticketed film campaigns not only are reliable and cost effective, they are key in building direct audience relationships with data you own. We believe in Trellis and our success with returning clients proves their confidence in the platform as well.”
