ALLEN, TEXAS (March 30, 2026) – Directed by Academy Award®*-nominated filmmaker Hubert Davis (Hardwood, Best Documentary, Short Subjects, 2005), the crowd-pleasing hockey drama YOUNGBLOOD debuts on Blu-ray™ and DVD May 5 from Well Go USA Entertainment. Adapted from the 1986 release (starring Rob Lowe and Patrick Swayze), the film follows Detroit hockey prodigy Dean Youngblood, raised by his father on a diet of toughness and hockey, who joins the Hamilton Mustangs, where his pride and prowess are severely tested. YOUNGBLOOD stars Ashton James (Boxcutter) in the title role, Henri Picard (The Dishwasher), Shawn Doyle (“Star Trek: Discovery”), and Blair Underwood (Deep Impact, “L.A. Law”). Bonus content includes behind-the-scenes footage.
Synopsis:
Driven by his father’s brutal code, Detroit hockey phenom Dean Youngblood joins the Hamilton Mustangs. Benched for arrogance and baited by a rival goon, he grows under captain Sutton and faces a playoff choice between revenge and maturity.
