Hollywood, Calif.(March 4, 2025) – Movieguide’s highly anticipated 32nd Annual Movieguide® Awards, which The New Yorker has referred to as the “Christian Oscars”, honors wholesome movies with faith and values and will broadcast on Great American Family on March 6, at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT and same-day streaming on Pure Flix.

Movieguide® Awards nominees include some of the most popular movies of last year, including “Inside Out 2,” “Despicable Me 4,” “Mufasa: The Lion King,” “Dune: Part 2,” “Twisters,” “Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes,” and “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever.” The Movieguide® Awards also celebrates popular TV programs for families and people of faith, such as “Bluey,” “The Chosen,” “Blue Bloods,” “NCIS,” and “The Baxters.” Many of these titles bring in significant revenue for their studios.

Movieguide®’s 2025 Annual Report to the Entertainment Industry recently revealed that the most family-friendly movies averaged $59.66 million per movie in 2024 in the United States and Canada, more than three times as much money compared to the least family-friendly movies with the most offensive, obscene, anti-family, immoral content, which averaged only $18.08 million.

The top family movies nominated for Movieguide® Awards have made a total of $1.44 billion in the United States and Canada, averaging about $289 million per movie, while the two top Oscar winners, “Anora” and “The Brutalist,” have made $31.47 million total, averaging less than $15.74 million.

Movieguide® has been awarding movies and television programs with faith and values since 1993. Within two years after the first Movieguide® Faith & Values Awards, the number one TV program was “Touched by an Angel” and the top movie at the box office was “The Lion King.”

“The Movieguide® Awards have had a tremendously positive impact on Hollywood and the entertainment industry,” said Dr. Ted Baehr, founder and publisher of Movieguide®, www.movieguide.org. “Our nominees and winners are must-see movies and programs.”

“Movieguide® is like a vaccine for a diseased industry,” legendary recording artist and movie star Pat Boone told Movieguide® while on the red carpet for the Movieguide® Awards. “Really, there’s a lot of sickness going on in the entertainment field, and Ted Baehr with Movieguide® has got the answer, he’s got the cure. If you want to make money in the movie business, make family films, make faith-friendly films, and they make money. Plus, they’re good for our nation.”

Dr. Baehr is chairman of the Christian Film & Television Commission® (CFTVC) ministry and publisher of its family guide to movies, Movieguide® (www.movieguide.com). CFTVC and Movieguide® are an international non-profit ministry dedicated to “redeeming the values of the entertainment industry by influencing industry executives and by informing and equipping the public about the influence of the entertainment media.”
