Angel Studios Projects $6M Opening Weekend for Post-Apocalyptic Thriller HOMESTEAD
Film Launches a Multi-Format Series, Overperforms in a Competitive Pre-Holiday Box Office Battle
(Provo, UT—December 22, 2024) Angel Studios—a platform and studio empowering filmmakers to crowdfund, create, and distribute films —is announcing its projected weekend results for its post-apocalyptic thriller HOMESTEAD. With an estimated weekend cume box office of $6M, the film debuts in 5th place. In a competitive pre-holiday weekend box office battle, HOMESTEAD launches a groundbreaking multi-format franchise that shares the story of a community that must unite to survive or turn against each other and fall after the world erupts in post-apocalyptic chaos.
“HOMESTEAD is groundbreaking, as the film launches theatrically, and then immediately, new episodes that continue the story are available into a streaming series on the Angel app and Angel.com,” said Brandon Purdie, EVP and Head of Theatrical Distribution at Angel Studios. “The Angel Guild has been overwhelmingly supportive of all aspects of this franchise. The film is on 1410 fewer screens than the #4 film, and our box office numbers prove our audience is committed to going to theaters to kick-off an amazing cinematic experience.”
