For one-night-only this Sunday December 5, 2021, relive the classic holiday tale of “It’s a Wonderful Life” with live performances by Jason Sudeikis, Rosario Dawson, Mark Hamill, Martin Sheen, Mandy Patinkin, George Wendt, Lou Diamond Phillips, Phil Lamarr, Ben Mankiewicz, Ron Funches, Ed Harris, Kathy Bates, Naomi Rubin and more. The Ed Asner Family Center is also excited to announce the casting of Screen Actors Guild Awards® Nominee Frances Fisher where she’ll reunite with Titanic co-star Kathy Bates!
Hosted by Tom Bergeron, the 2021 Zoom virtual table read is in partnership with Turner Classic Movies, sponsored by MeTV and will be a tribute to the life and legacy of Ed Asner. A TikTok LIVE Q&A with the cast will immediately follow the table read, broadcast on The Ed Asner Family Center account, where TikTok users will be able to submit live questions for the cast.
In celebration of Giving Tuesday, purchase your tickets for a magical night loaded with family-friendly entertainment. The live table read will include surprise musical performances by Wallows, a silent auction featuring vacation packages and collectible Hollywood memorabilia along with a sweepstakes loaded with holiday gift ideas! The silent auction will be live on December 1.
As part of TikTok’s #GivingSzn initiative, the Ed Asner Family Center donation button is now live on TikTok, which can be easily added to individual accounts. Proceeds benefit The Ed Asner Family Center (TEAFC), which promotes mental health and enrichment programs to individuals with special needs and their families.
In addition to the Ed Asner tribute, the event will honor Mike Darnell, President of Unscripted and Alternative Television at Warner Brothers, along with his family. The cast will include Mike’s daughter and Social Director of TEAFC, Chelsea Darnell, autistic actors Naomi Rubin, Spencer Harte and Domonique Brown (TV’s “Atypical”) along with neurodivergent TEAFC members Ryan Booth and Lucas Salusky who all all actively participate in expressive enrichment programs at the Center. Victor Nelli (TV’s “Superstore,” “Brooklyn Nine Nine”) will return to direct.
