Highlights of the May Movies On Demand schedule on cable include Her, Spike Jonze’s Best Original Screenplay award winner in 2014, with Scarlett Johansson playing the voice of the computer operating system that Joaquin Phoenix falls in love with. It received 94% positive critics’ reviews on Rotten Tomatoes.

The Monuments Men, directed by and starring George Clooney along with Matt Damon, Bill Murray, Cate Blanchett and others, is based on a true story of a WWII platoon charged with rescuing great art masterpieces in Germany during the brutal siege of the Nazis.

A perfect MOD entertainment is About Last Night, the contemporary reimagining of the classic 1986 film, starring Kevin Hart, with Michael Early, Regina Hall and Joy Bryant, delivering a smart balance of romance and comedy. Both films are based on David Mamet’s 1974 play Sexual Perversity in Chicago.

For those in the mood for ferocious flying gargoyles and an action-packed battle to save humanity, they can catch Aaron Eckhart as Dr. Frankenstein’s 200 year old creature in

I, Frankenstein based on the Darkstorm Studios’ graphic novel. In the action thriller 3 Days to Kill, Kevin Costner plays an international spy hunting down a ruthless terrorist while trying to redeem himself with a family he has neglected.

Cable is the nation’s powerhouse in delivery of movies via the On Demand platform, representing about half of all paid movie rentals in the U.S., far outpacing satellite, iTunes, Amazon and all others.* When combined, cable, telco and satellite represent 84% of the market share, while only 16% of movie orders come from digital storefronts. Movies On Demand on Cable (MOD) is the easiest, most convenient way to rent movies from home instantly, with just a click of the remote. Most titles are in HD, and in 3D where indicated. It is part of digital cable service.
