Set in America during the midst of the Depression, “Christmas For A Dollar” follows the Kamp family who have struggled since Mrs. Kamps untimely death. The older children do their best to take care of the family, but the younger children, Cassidy, Norman, and straight talking little Ruthie struggle with a bleak looking future. Now, with their father facing mounting debts resulting from Norman’s battle with polio, the siblings expect a Christmas without presents. But when their father scrapes together a dollar to use for gifts, things change. As each child comes up with a special gift to give another member of the family, they soon begin to see many of their wishes come true.

With a limited US release on Oct. 18,   “I’m In Love With a Church Girl” is a drama about a retired drug trafficker, Miles Montego (Ja Rule), who is now completely legitimate. Even though Miles has turned over a new leaf, the DEA can’t seem to let him out of their sights. Struggling to keep on the right side of the law, Miles meets the one girl of his dreams but she’s not the usual type of girl that he’s used to dating. Vanessa (Adrienne Bailon) is a church girl in every sense of the word. They are tested to their last ounce of faith and strength in God and each other.

In “Cartas A Elena,” a young boy, Emilio is adopted by the mailman, Teo. As part of their daily tasks, they not only deliver the mail but read letters to the villagers, as well as take dictation, since most are illiterate. One day Teo becomes disabled and Emilio takes over the mail route and with great imagination, he changes the letters to happy and optimistic stories. He transforms a village raising everyone’s spirits. But the enjoyment is short lived, as they realize that all the wonderful stories are the same, a product of Emilio’s imagination. During this time, Emilio also becomes friends and eventually falls in love with a girl named Elena.

“Not That Funny” is a romantic comedy with a simple story of how far a serious man will go for love. Stefan Lane claims he is “alone but not lonely” – until the day Hayley Richmonde returns to the little town of Sierra Madre, California. Weary of her self-absorbed boss-boyfriend, Hayley says all she wants is someone who makes her laugh. Stefan, a man who is not funny, tries to learn to be the man Hayley says she wants. In the process, they each find an unexpected transformation.

Currently in production is “Love Finds You in Sugarcreek Ohio” starring Sarah Lancaster, Tom Everett Scott and Kelly McGillis. Based on the Guidepost Publishers “Love Finds You” series novels, the story is about policewoman Rachel Troyer who loves peaceful Sugarcreek, where her elderly Amish aunts run the famous farmhouse inn. But when stranger Joe Matthews lands on her aunts’ doorstep begging for shelter for himself and his son, it’s clear to Rachel that he’s no tourist. Who is he—and will she be able to keep her heart in check? Guidepost recently partnered with MPI has nearly six million monthly readers for this particular book series.
